Wow! I had a great time at the Professional Photographers of Michigan Annual convention. I was very honored to be named one of the top 7 photographers! I scored merits on 5 out of 6 of my prints that I entered. Here are my prints on display at the convention. Mine are the bottom two on the left, and the 4 on the right!

I am at the Professional Photographers of Michigan’s annual convention in Troy Michigan. We are having a GREAT time here. Yesterday we saw a seminar by Tri Coast Photography, on off camera TTL flash. It was excellent. These guys were not only knowledgeable in what they were teaching, they were also very entertaining to listen too!

I spent the entire day sitting in print competition. I feel I learn more there, than in any class room. It is great to sit there and hear what the judges like and don’t like, and the scores they give. I am happy to say that I scored 5 merit prints today (out of the six I entered).

I am having a great time! I hope to give you one or two more updates while I am here! Here is a picture I took for my 365 project while I was at the convention today!

I stumbled upon this cute little store in Ada yesterday.  I saw the outside of the building, and it seamed to be calling me inside!  When I went inside, I was very impressed! What I loved about it is the originality of the products that were for weddings!

Two products especially caught my eye.  The first was a blessing bowl.  You can have it customized and hand painted to match your wedding.  They will match it to your invitation or your colors, or you decor.  You can have a special saying or Bible verse put on it… it is totally your choice!  The blessing bowls were originally created to receive thoughts of wisdom, hope and love at milestone events in life.  So, the idea is to put it out at your wedding, and let your guests fill the bowl with little pieces of paper with their “blessings” to you written on the papers.   The bowl is alos a wonderful, food save piece which you can use for years to come.

The second product I loved was the bouquet holders.  These were so original!  You have your bouquets made to go into the bouquet holder, then it is a gift to your attendants after the wedding.  The bouquet holder comes with a ribbon so it can be used as a wall piece after the wedding.  Your attendants can hang it on the wall, and fill it with dried or fresh flowers after the wedding.

Working on Albums!

February 5, 2010

This time of year is Album time!  It is when all my brides from the last year finish working on their albums.  Katie and Nate’s wedding was last July in Grand Rapids.    Here is a couple pages from their album:
