Nashville!

January 11, 2010

We had a GREAT time in nashville, although it was too short. We were at the Professional Photographers of America’s national photographic convention. We could only stay for one day, so we made sure we made the most of our time there. We spent most of the day in the Trade show, checking all the newest and greatest products in the photographic industry. One of the cool things was the alluminum prints by one of our Grand Rapids Vendors. The fun part was that they used two of my images for their samples at the trade show! 01112010020111201003

I also spent time in a mentoring program with a National Judge for print competition. We looked at some of my images, and she gave me some suggestions and helped me pick out images that I am going to compete with. I LOVED this… it is such an honor to have wonderful photographers mentor me. I am working on getting my Masters Degree from Professional Photographers of America, and this helps me get closer!

I also walked through the prints that were on display from last years international print competition. Only prints that score a merit are displayed. Last year I was honored to have a print score a merit, so I made sure I found mine, and had my picture taken with it hanging in the exhibit!

Nashville

January 10, 2010

I am in Nashville for the Professional Photographers of America’s National Photography Convention.  I am here with Jayne and <a href=”http://www.lisalenderinkphotography.com/” target=”_blank”>Lisa Lenderink</a>.  Tonight we took a walk down Broadway, and had a great time!  I was working on my image of the day, and I took a bunch of pictures!  But, it was hard to pick just one.  So, I decided to share the rest on my blog!

The Photobooth Company!

January 8, 2010

I thought I would just throw a shout out to a great company that I worked with this summer… The Photobooth Company!  Anna and John used them at their wedding last summer.  I have to tell you, it was the hit of the reception!  There was quite a line up outside the door!  It was so fun, because it was just like an old fashioned photo booth.

These guys had a riot posing for the photobooth camera!

Everyone was excited to show each other their pictures!

The cool thing is that you get two copies…. one copy for you to keep yourself, and the other one goes to the bride and groom.  You put it in a book and write a message on it, and the bride and groom have that to keep forever!

So, two thumbs up for The Photobooth company!

365 project

January 2, 2010

I am starting a personal project for the year 2010. It is called the 365 project. It is where I take one picture a day, for 365 days. I have been thinking about it for a while, wondering if I could do it. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to make it public, because I was afraid that I wouldn’t follow through with it. But, then I thought if I made it public, it would hold me accountable to keep it going. So…. here goes. If you would like to follow my journey, you can FOLLOW IT HERE.

Here is my first picture of the year! Enjoy!
