Engagement sessions!

April 29, 2009

I LOVE engagement sessions!  Engagement sessions really help me get to know the Bride and Groom in a more personal way.  It really helps with the Photography on the Wedding Day.  When we do an engagement session, It is a fun relaxed atmosphere.  I get to see how you, as the bride and groom , react in front of the camera.  I think it is essential for both the bride and groom to go through this experience.  Grooms are usually a little more hesitant before the engagement.  But,  he will realize that getting your picture taken is actually quite fun!  It isn’t stiff and formal, we actually have fun!  So, that is why I include engagement sessions in all my wedding collections.  I want to get to know you!  I like to make the engagement session personal to YOU.  What are you like?  Are you carefree and fun loving?  Then you might want to try a urban session in Downtown Grand Rapids.  Are you romantic?  Do you like to take walks on the beach?  Then you might want your engagement session at Holland State Park, on the beach!  Do you like the outdoors?  Do you like picnics?  Then you might want your engagement session at Spring Grove Park!  What ever your personality, we can create a custom engagement session for you!   Here is one of my favorite engagement images from last fall.  Cara and Nate had a beautiful session at Holland State Park!

David+Becky

April 22, 2009

Well, last Saturday was a PERFECT day for an April wedding! You could not have asked for a better day! David and Becky were married at Thornapple Evangelical Covenant Church, in Cascade Michigan. The sun was shining, it was warm, and love was in the air!

On the way to the reception, we stopped at the covered bridge in Ada, MI, to take a few more wedding images. The location made the photography beautiful!

Then, the reception was at Egypt Valley Country Club. My last wedding was there, and it was beautiful! That is a beautiful Venue. The DJ’s for the evening were from Complete Music, and they kept the Dance floor hopping! In fact, the Village People even showed up for the event! (Ok, it wasn’t really the village people, just Becky’s relatives!)

Last night I attended a MWEP meeting.  MWEP is a group of Michigan wedding and event professional.  The purpose of the meeting is to network with other wedding vendors.  I met vendors from the Grand Rapids and West Michigan area.  One of the vendors that I met was Becka of lil’ Miss Cupcakes.  Her cupcakes are to die for!  She had samples at the meeting last night, and all I can say is… YUMMMMMYYYYY!   lil’ Miss Cupcake bakes all their cupcakes from scratch, using only the freshest and finest quality ingredients.  Becka explained to us that she is dedicated to using organic ingredients, like organic brown eggs, organic milk, fresh real butter, ultra fine cake flour and Nielsen-Massey Madagascar Vanilla.  She can customize your cupcakes with your choice of colors and decorations, as well as flavor.  (She has some amazing and unique flavors!)  So, if you are looking for something a little different and a little more special for your wedding than a traditional wedding cake, give Becka a call!

Egypt Valley Country Club

This week I have a wedding at Egypt Valley Country Club in Grand Rapids Michigan.   It is a beautiful venue.  I pulled some images from the last wedding I photographed there, which happened to be Joel and Rachel’s wedding again!  The building was decorated for Christmas, which made the photography beautiful!  The food was amazing, and the staff was wonderful to work with.  0413200918041320091604132009170413200919
